Why New Hampshire
Liberty lives in New hampshire
A Culture of Liberty
Do you want to live in a place where people take responsibility for their own lives, where community is genuine and voluntary, and where your rights are fully respected as long as you respect the rights of others? So do we.
That’s why Free Staters have chosen New Hampshire as our home.
When Governor Craig Benson welcomed the Free State Project to New Hampshire, it felt like a recognition of what so many already believed in their hearts: the Granite State is a natural home for freedom lovers.
With no income or sales tax, a strong tradition of local control, and a culture that values individual rights, New Hampshire consistently ranks among the freest states in the nation. In so many ways, it is the perfect launchpad for liberty.

Neighbors Who Care
The Free State Project isn’t just about politics, it’s about people. Movers find welcoming neighbors, grassroots networks, and year-round community events like PorcFest and Liberty Forum where they connect, collaborate, and celebrate freedom together.
